Boat Maintenance

Members attention is drawn to the need for care for the Environment when working on their boats. The Environment Agency publish information about precautions to be observed and the details are available on their web site. Essentially the advice is that when washing off boats if the colour pigment begins to show in the washings then the operation should be scaled down as this is indicative that pollutants are being released.

If a Member is considering scraping off an antifouling coating (or indeed any other paint) then they should cover the ground with an impermeable sheet and ensure that all the scrapings are swept up and disposed of in an approved way.
